Perhaps this comment included references to histoical philosophies, but given my lack of general historical knowledge (which will be self-evident) I likely mixed up a few minor details. Certainly nothing worthy of invalidating the overall point, but sufficient to provide ample fodder for negative commentary to distract from the comment's intent. This is a remark mentioned as an aside at the end of my comment, pondering the efficacy of "This is me hitting on you" as a pick-up line.
